Today, I started my face oil. I cut cistus roses and calendula, added one scented peony and one rose. I put them roughly cut into a glass jar and poured apricot kernel oil and grape seed oil on it.

Leave for 3 weeks, sieve, then put in little oil containers. I use daily until next harvest season.

In case you think New Zealand is clean and green, well NO.

New Zealand is a laggard in waste management, ranked the most wasteful in the OECD in a 2012 study by the World Bank, with the highest municipal solid waste generated per person.

But progress on the way.

When I saw this new cosmetics warehouse, I saw disgusting amounts of chemicals and packaging. This hurts the planet and human health too.

And it's a terrible competition to the many small natural cosmetic producers of our country.

Now it's up to the consumers to choose local, natural products.

The EPA (Environmental Plunderers Agency) has agreed with the Santana Mine in pristine central Otago.
Sad day for nature, the people now and in the future, specially in Tarras and Cromwell, well actually me too, very affected, it will destroy my landscape.

Forever chemicals are accumulating in whales bodies, that means in the ocean, that means everywhere. Leading to cancer epidemic, infertility issues, high cholesterol, etc.

This is why I do not buy ANY chemicals, avoid packaging and buy organic as much as possible.
'Forever chemicals' in New Zealand whales and dolphins
Species feeding mid-water were just as exposed to PFAS as coastal Māui dolphins or deep-diving species like beaked whales, new research found.

World inequalities due to basic colonialism and capitalism have been worsening by design of the Thatcher Reagan era (1980's) of free enterprise, less government and less tax. We are still in it and inequalities are worsening, by choice. Unless we choose to change.

Global inequality is as urgent as climate change: the world needs a panel of experts to steer solutions
There is a great institutional need for strong inequality analysis. That’s why the world needs to establish an International Panel on Inequality.

Delinking is an interesting concept to step out of global inequalities inherent to the capitalist colonialist world we are in.

In short, countries develop their production for their own people thus gaining sovereignty too.

Well explained in this article.

I just saw someone walking out of the shop with an ICE lawnmower.

I thought: 'poor guy, he will have to pull that cord, buy petrol, pollute and make noise for himself and the neighbors for years to come.'

Why not buy an electric one, as powerful, silent, free energy once you have solar panels🤔

Excellent article from #theconversation about trees memory and epigenetics. An old tree transmits it's knowledge and experience to its seeds, thereby helping young trees adapt to climate change.

An old tree and its genetic moves is irreplaceable. #ProtectTrees

What do trees remember?
Until recently, little was known about how memory functions in trees which experience decades, even centuries, of shifting environmental pressures.

With governments levels climate action stalling internationally, local level seems an excellent way to go. Lots is already happening at cities level. Worth following.

The other available way for #climateaction is individual action. No need to wait for laws, anyone can decarbonize, consume less etc

Gardening in harmony with nature is a choice. It brings fast rewards. Eg. No killing chemicals so we have immediate increase of insects and birds, variety of plants, lushness, beauty.

We ask often: "What would nature do?" So we observe, understand, appreciate nature. Sounds like love? It is😍🙏🌿🌎🐝

That's cool, a collaboration between International Red Cross and World Wildlife Fund because we can't protect the people without protecting and regenerating nature too.

Of course, we are one.
