It was a great start for the Young Socceroos in their U20 Asian Cup campaign in China.

In the A-League era, just three other players made more ALM appearances before turning 17 - Irankunda (21 appearances), M Toure (19) and Italiano (16). None of these three made Asian league appearances like Eames has. Eames could get 4 more appearances (incl 2 ALM) as a 16 yr old

The A league is giving more minutes to youth and it is interesting to break down the number of players by birth year
2002 -16
2003 - 19
2004 - 26
2005 - 19
2006 - 14
2007 - 6
2008 - 2
I would expect 2002 to dominate, followed by 2003 etc. This tells me our youth development hasn't peaked yet.
