I think if you “swear on” something, and you turn out to be false, you should be legally and socially obliged to like forsake what you swore on. Swore on god and lied? Now you must denounce god and your ‘immortal soul’. Swore on your mother and lied? You are no longer her beneficiary, child, etc.
