Little Bugs became Little Cubs! We made fabulous masks and fluffy tails ready to find the cuddly fox friends with important information about their family. We planted foxtail millet to feed the birds next year. And headed to the mud kitchen to make a foxy feast, with lots of wiggly 🪱 of course!

Please use this urgent action to write to your MP about a key amendment - they should vote for - to the Planning & Infrastructure Bill to ensure vital nature and ecosystem protections are in it.
Do share this. Thanks

Email your MP. Amendment 130 would make sure the new planning systems works for, not against nature.demand they keep amendment 130 in the Bill
It's now or never. This is the last chance to protect nature in the Planning and Infrastructure Bill. Email your MP to keep amendment 130 in the Bill.

On this day in 1677 Cornelius Vermuyden died in London, a Dutch-born engineer who had been tasked with draining the watery fens and levels of eastern England.

As I wrote last year, Vermuyden’s fenland exploits provide a cautionary tale for those wading into unfamiliar landscapes.

Enormous thanks to our fabulous volunteers from Supported Steps for helping the Reserves team to rake the meadow at the Ramsey Heights nature reserve. After being cut, the plants were left to rest for the seeds to drop, but the foliage is later removed so it doesn’t over-fertilise the ground.

Beautiful! The Clifden Nonpareil is still a rare find. Considered extinct in the UK by the 1960s, they’re making a comeback! And the camouflage of the Merveille du Jour against lichen is fantastic. @bc-cambs-essex.bsky.social @wildlifebcn.org
The moth survey across the @greatfen.org.uk this week produced some stunning results, including: the impressive Clifden Nonpareil (Blue Underwing), yet another L-album Wainscot, a magnificent male Great Silver Water Beetle, and plenty of the stunning Merveille du Jour.
