I'm too old and too tired to keep up a character specific profile anymore

I like Superman, X-Men (mostly Rogue, Gambit, Emma, and Iceman), Iron Man, She-Hulk, fantasy/sci-fi rogues, and synthwave
In his alt continuity series X-Men Forever, Claremont renames Gambit Remy Picard, because in main continuity his adopted father's name was Jean Luc

I've eaten a shameful amount of pizza, cake, and ice cream on my extended holiday. While fun, I now have a long climb to get my @$$ back into something resembling reasonable shape

I really liked X-Men in the late 80s and very early 90s, but fell off in early 1992, right after moving to a new town I didn't like. At the time I was disappointed that Claremont was gone, but I think also I associated the line with the move

Reading Gambit is useful for learning French, because it gives me the opportunity to look up new words I don't know

Woof. I may have spoken too soon. This series starts off fun, turns into a few episodes of Reacher, then gets REAL freaking dark in the last issue
When I was a tween-teenager I absolutely loved Claremont's X-Men, starting with Mutant Massacre. Now 90s Nicieza is my preferred classic X-Men, but I think this flashback minis by Claremont are a lot of fun

I've always been fascinated by the apparent convergent evolution of the Hounds in X-Men lore (ie Claremont likes to recycle his favorite ideas) and how, at least tangentially, the Shadow King seems to be involved with every iteration

Hey guys this is Grant, formerly Armory/StarkUnlimited. It's too exhausting for me to keep up a theme of one particular character anymore, but I'll still be posting often about comics and characters I love

While I'm not a fan of Whilce Portacio's pencils, I think his inking gives Jim Lee's pencils a nice grittiness

Happy birthday to Old Man's War, officially released on this day 21 years ago. It is old enough to have a drink!

A couple of years ago I would have said All Star Superman

Now, while there's a lot of stuff I like, nothing feels special like that anymore
Ok, everyone, what book is sacred enough to you to get sworn in on?
Strange takes on Mayor Zamdani swearing his oath on the Qu’ran. It has nothing to do with church & state. The point of the oath is for the person swearing in to do so upon some text that is sacred TO THEM. Some Presidents swore in w/o any book. John Quincy Adams was sworn on a law book. His choice.
