These images of a tree with a huge detached branch, taken on 28 December, seem like a perfect metaphor for the end of 2025. Just two days later, we had to have Leo, our nearly 14 year-old Cocker Spaniel, put to sleep. It was like having a limb removed.

Christmas Day lost its shine when we got home from dinner out. Leo, our almost-14 Yr old Cocker, was struggling to stand & had vomited. He's been showing signs of going downhill for a while, but this was a big drop. He's clearly stressed, & it may be time to make a hard decision, out of kindness.
