A must-read. Brilliant!
Today's newsletter: more from me about Downing Street's curious pride in its resemblance to a failed Labour government and why I think that is revealing:
Starmer’s immigration speech fits with Labour tradition, but so is losing
Party leadership’s echo of precedent should hardly justify current policy given record of drift and defeat

This.
Somehow we are taking the 'opportunity' presented by the attack on the US higher education sector and making ourselves substantially less attractive. I cannot believe the sheer amateur hour nature of this, just because Labour got scared about a few polls and the local elections.

Blimey.
Labour's vote shares put them in fifth place in the wards with the most graduates. Average figures in grads over 40% wards:

Lib Dem: 28.6
Con 25.9
Ref 19.8
Grn 13.4
Lab 12.7

Brilliant critique of Tory leadership.
Kemi Badenoch’s comments on the grooming gangs show her to be incapable of doing the job she currently holds and unfit for the one she seeks:
Badenoch’s call for new grooming gangs probe reflects old fixations
Tory leader raises valid concerns but her diagnosis suggests she has not looked at all the evidence

“Just be nice” is not a growth strategy for the UK’s creative industries or indeed any other part of the British economy.
@stephenkb.bsky.social
It's not that the Creative Industries don't need to be more inclusive, there just needs to be a plan for inclusive investment and growth.
