Just an ordinary sports lover and news follower, hoping to find some normality and fun times again, on a sensible social platform. Working the spreadsheets, Saintsfc, running and walking in the Herefordshire hills is what life is all about.
Shout out to those of there in November 1985 when Everton rained on our centenary match. Would be nice to take revenge 40 years later. Not that I am bitter, the 85 Everton team was quite a good one. #saintsfc

Bang goes the unbeaten run, and relegation to pot, thank god that’s over, oh wait still 7 games to go and lose. If anyone mentions the need to be professional for the remainder of the season, I think I’ll scream and ask what about for the first 31 games!. #saintsfc

In my latest Guardian column I breakdown Reform’s threat to Wales.

Having slept on it,I still have no words to describe yesterday. After 50+years of supporting, I’ve learnt not to get too excited or too depressed it’s just football. it’s time to act rationally and walk away from the addiction until it provides the adrenaline sport is designed to provide. #saintsfc

In the end it wasn’t the style or mistakes that put the nail in the coffin, the players did for him. Some not good enough, many lost confidence in their manager/teammates and some just turning up and going through the motions. Recent criticisms of detail mistakes came back to bite #saintsfc

This poll about another EU referendum isn't going quite the way the Daily Express thought at the moment.
POLL: Do you agree with Carol Vorderman that there should be a referendum on rejoining the EU?

I got a bit suspicious when I saw that Keir Starmer had signed 584 times.
They just made on- line petitions worthless, that is all they have achieved.
Musk has his grubby fingers all over this too.

Strangerland audio complete @jonsopel1.bsky.social. Enjoyed that, and felt like the right time to stop and take stock of the changing times we are living through.
