Leavitt thinks the Librarian of Congress checks library tickets and puts returned books back on the shelves. She has no idea that the role is a very high-level leadership & management role. She probably also thinks the Surgeon General does appendectomies.

One has to wonder who profits from the well-choreographed sophisticated campaign of proliferating total nonsense using scientific-looking graphs to make the anti-vaccine garbage look credible to data illiterates. Who benefits from effectively killing millions of people, and why?
May 12, 2025 at 12:23 PM
To break through climate apathy, stop using scientific terms & complex graphs, don't focus on consequences in terms of hot days and storms. Reframe to exploit the real fears and prejudices of people: crops fail, famine triggers massive flows of migrants to your town.

Good news in the current fog of trade. Prada acquired Versace (previously acquired by Michael Kors) for $1.4 billion. Maybe Italy is finally starting to build fashion empires to eventually rival the French (LVMH, Kering), who have been steadily acquiring Italian luxury brands.

In producing the tariff leaderboard and publishing the equation used to calculate the tariffs, they just copy/pasted output from ChatGPT - not realizing that AI has developed a sense of humor.

Elon has morphed again. Now he's a sober, serious, seemingly troubled businessman again. It's like the ketamine wore off and he discovered he became a total jerk without realizing it. Was there an intervention? I hope he's back to the guy I used to be in awe of.

American companies manufacture in China, Bangladesh and elsewhere then ship from there to hundreds of countries, without their goods having to enter or leave the US. Not even profits get repatriated. So no tax income for the US. Tax reform would make more for America than tariffs, without the harm.

I'm very anti-ageism. But the problem with allowing members of Congress and the Senate to stay in office forever is that the 'checks and balances' lose their teeth, and get a bit wobbly.
