the #calisthenics baseline is being able to lift your own bodyweight. To date I’ve been targeting skills. So pivoting to develop a baseline of bodyweight compound lifts to get used to working at bodyweight load.

Got the bar variant 3 years ago. Time to try the ring variant of the pull over. Underestimated how much shoulder strength is needed for 360° rotation. Need stronger shoulders sans mass (or won’t make it through the straps)

gave up gift-wrap 3 years ago in favor of the 🇯🇵 style of cloth or #furoshiki - to reduce waste. Cloth can be returned or reused.

Wrapping using only folds knots is HARD and this is my best try so had to take a pic to flex 🤣

a hack helping with transition practice from #frontlever > #invertedhang > #backlever using a band. Despite using the lightest band, 2X looping created too much tension vs body weight, preventing full range of motion. 💡 Ankle weights. 😉

Learning the ring roll. Challenging part - getting a feel for momentum needed to maintain a midair roll without losing height - requires solid bodyweight awareness.
