The GOP is pushing the SAVE Act, to make elections 'more secure.’ How many wives took their husband's name in marriage?

How many of those have names that no longer match what's on their BIRTH CERTIFICATE?

Under SAVE, they will not be eligible to vote. MILLIONS of women will LOSE VOTING RIGHTS.

I may have a stroke.

Someone said protests don’t belong in church and it took every ounce of self-censure within me not to say “Deborah you are literally a Protestant.”

A PROTESTant.

I assume they think Luther was nailing Bed, Bath, & Beyond coupons to the door.

A haunting song with an applicable message. Listen again.
On the turning away
From the pale and downtrodden
And the words they say
Which we won't understand
Don't accept that what's happening
Is just a case of others' suffering
Or you'll find that you're joining in
The turning away

Adventures in sprained ankle continue.

Day 13. HUGE advances. I'm walking without a limp (thus without pain), even thru a grocery store run.

Still working on range of motion without pain, but walking is normal. Stretches continue and the human body continues to amaze.

Use the good china!

I found fancy fountain pen inks dried out.

That expensive liquor oxidizes and changes flavor.

The lotion goes rancid.

Drink it, use it, don't save it for a brighter day. Find joy in your world. Grab Grandma's crystal for your morning juice. Don't wait. Life is short.

A little erranding today. Ankle not really happy. We'll baby it tonight and see how I feel tomorrow morning. Not even a week yet, I have to take it slow. And it's ugly bruises.

Anything creative is toxic to the regime.
It reminds us of our humanity and our connections to each other. If you're a creative, make MORE art or music or fashion in these difficult times. Pour your emotions into it and put it into the world. The arts are the lifeblood of humanity.

Here's a thing you can do, RIGHT NOW, to combat Musk's nonconsensual-porn-and-desecration-of-the-dead machine:

I called my state's AG yesterday and then sent an email; that email + the template I used to guide me, next.
In one of the most appalling developments of past day, Elon Musk's AI chatbot desecrated Renee Nicole Good's body. That's in addition to harassing women and sexually exploiting minors. By @katieherchenroeder.bsky.social

Grok deepfaked Renee Nicole Good's body into a bikini
Hours after an ICE agent killed the mother of three, Elon Musk’s chatbot was undressing her.

Y’all, elevation is amazing. Stayed off that ankle and kept it elevated all day. Slept with it propped up. This morning 90%+ of swelling is gone.

Still TBD how much it hurts when I start to use it, but I plan to keep off it and elevated again today.

Yay progress!

Good morning. I'd like to invite anyone who is interested to make a small gesture of kindness today. It's up to you to decide what that can be. The key is for you to act on the idea. With so much out of our control, we can choose how to be with each other today and every day.

Finchy inspired me, so here are some 2025 books I read and suggest, as well as my numbers for the year.

63 books read. 12% non-fiction. This is kind of my standard. I always wish I'd read more non-fiction, but it takes longer and often bums me out. (Reality does, in fact, bite)

What did I read...

Just finished S1 of Pluribus. This is disturbing. Components ring very real from our early 2020 COVID lockdown, and parts of it seem very possible going forward. Entertaining? I suppose. A cautionary tale? Absolutely. It's like 1984, Fahrenheit 451, or A Brave New World. Consume with your eyes open.
