Such amazingly articulate women. May they one day be able to return to Afghanistan to inspire and lead their countrywomen.
At the @meidascanada.ca town hall in Victoria a group of young Afghan women showed up. They were determined to share their story of resistance.
Check out this powerful discussion.

The City of Toronto has made excellent strides in improving safety on our streets. Why is Ford so intent on tearing it apart? Why is ending “the war on cars” more important than the safety of Toronto’s children?
November 14, 2025 at 1:42 AM
This is real loss for the City of Toronto and the environment. Why is it that any steps forward for safety or the environment in Toronto are constantly being undermined by the province?

Doug Ford quietly kills Toronto’s green roof bylaw
Since the bylaw came into force in 2009, more than 1,200 green roofs have been installed across the city.

I’ve been alternating between yelling encouraging words to the Jays and yelling about developing sensitive ecosystems (that are treaty lands) at these ads. Good to see the article taking on Ford’s misleading advertising (that costs us a fortune).
Those Ring of Fire ads during World Series broadcasts might have you thinking mines are up and running in the remote region in northern Ontario, but that's not the case and the Ford government should be upfront about it, writes @elaineanselmi.bsky.social thenarwhal.ca/opinion-blue...
Don’t be fooled by the Ontario Ring of Fire ads aired during Blue Jays games | The Narwhal
Doug Ford’s ads during Blue Jays World Series games suggest mines are up and running in the Ring of Fire in northern Ontario, but that’s not true

I wrote a short essay about caring for my mother who suffers with dementia. The toll on caregivers is huge, and often goes unnoticed. This is my view of it.

I take Mom’s hand and try to connect with her, wherever her mind goes
My mother’s dementia has made caring for her at my home an impossibility. I fear she will never feel comfortable in her nursing home

Premier Ford is gutting healthcare by diverting money from hospitals to private agencies. This, along with the news that Shoppers Drug Mart billed $62 million for MedsChecks that were not always necessary, shows why Ontario healthcare is suffering.

Please, Ford, stop using provincial public dollars to fight for your petty grievances - which are municipal issues. Perhaps you could try addressing the measles epidemic or hospital emergency wait times instead …

Ontario to ask for appeal of court order pausing Toronto bike lane removal

Canada, keep up the boycotting of American products. It is clear there will never be a coherent basis upon which we can build a trade relationship. As for Carney, love that he can say so much without saying a thing!
watch Carney's reaction as Trump claims America doesn't "do much business" with Canada

As the mother of a goalie, I can attest that they are a special kind of person.
Who says goalies can’t be captains?
Canada needs a captain to lead it forward. Mark Carney is that person. #cdnpoli

Let’s hope that Jovani, and many of the Conservative party - especially the leader - become history tomorrow.

Pretty sure the headline should read: Loblaws CEO still makes an obscene amount of money after a pay drop. The Globe … 🤦🏼‍♀️

Get out and vote this April 28th. We need to sweep the Conservative Party into the past - where they belong.
Ekos polling uncovers the fact that piffleswipe Pierre Poilievre’s Conservatives still can’t make up their minds about Trump. A third of them think his Presidency is going ‘better than expected’!
🇨🇦Canada can’t let these bozos anywhere near power if we hope to survive as a country.

Grocery stores in Canada are looking more like libraries as people stand in front of shelves, poring over labels, checking for country of origin. We don’t want a trade war, but we are not going to roll over if there is one #elbowsup
The tariffs are here, and their anticipated impact on our grocery bills is, well, tariff-ying. Here, finance journalist Renée Sylvestre-Williams explores the power of the boycott amid the push to buy Canadian: thewalrus.ca/buy-canadian/

I needed this! I once again feel that pride that I had travelling Europe as a teenager in the ‘80s with the Canadian flag sewn on my backpack. We are a country to be proud of. We are not them.

Please work on your messaging, Marit. EVERY HOUSEHOLD IN ONTARIO will pay for Ford’s water palace. Many outside the city believe Toronto is paying for it. (Sorry for the shouty capitalization, there no underline option)
This holiday season, Doug Ford is gifting his insider pals a luxury spa and sticking you with the bill: It'll cost $400 for every single household.
