I'm not saying journalists should never interview admitted propagandists. There are journalistic reasons to do so. But if we do, we must be prepared to -- in fact it is our duty to -- challenge vociferously all unsubstantiated claims. Otherwise, we ourselves become propagandists.

Yes, the stock market may be tanking and our national security apparatus has never been more vulnerable and we're on the verge of both economic collapse and war, but it was all worth it to keep pronouns out of email signatures.

I think we have to confront the fact that tens of millions of Americans have pledged slavish allegiance to a man who says explicitly that his benchmark for when America was great is 1913. And then we have to think about the possibility that we are in the throes of a nationwide mental health crisis.

Wow who could’ve guessed that this would happen

It’s almost as if USAID was a pillar of American soft power and influence in the world

It’s almost as if it was entirely predictable that America’s adversaries would work to fill the void left by USAID’s destruction

We’ve known who and what Trump supporters are for almost a full decade.

We don’t have time to relitigate that.

It’s the “both sides,” spineless centrist delegation we gon have to call to the carpet.

Drawing equivalencies as people face destruction at the hands of evil is evil.

I saw a reel where it was stitched and this White Gen X guy asked why were Black GenXers so angry and the Black woman said "Because we grew up with you and thought you were different but you turned into your parents."

A word.

The reason that US government officials are pointing to German/European policies designed to prevent the rise of literal Nazis and another holocaust as evidence of the death of democracy is because the current US government and its supporters are literal Nazi sympathizers.

Reporters: Please stop calling things DEI that are not DEI. This is only cementing the propaganda being used to legitimize the dismantling of all types of initiatives that are not DEI as well as legitimize efforts to end civil rights enforcement. Be specific with your language. Be accurate.

There are families who will never be able to come back from this devastation, and many of them were in generational homes, passed down from people who bought homes in the 1970sand 80's in Altadena. All of the fires are a tragedy, but especially for those who don't have the resources to rebuild.
Eaton Fire Devastates Historic Altadena, Displacing Black Families and Destroying Legacies
While celebrity losses grab headlines, the Eaton Fire has destroyed nearly 1,000 structures in Altadena, displacing Black families who’ve shaped the community for generations. Here's a brief history o...

This is the kind of sick stuff red states do.

They could have given this mother $1K a month or so and she could have stayed in her place.

Instead, they would rather take her kids and pay $6200/mo. to house them.

The cruelty is the point.
In Georgia, a mom facing eviction reached out to DFCS for help. They offered her nothing. Soon the agency took her kids away because of "inadequate housing."

The state then paid *$6,200 a month* to house her kids in foster care.

One of the most important and infuriating stories I read this year:
When Families Need Housing, Georgia Will Pay for Foster Care Rather Than Provide Assistance
In more than 700 cases over five years, Georgia reported inadequate housing as the sole reason for taking a child into foster care, a WABE and ProPublica analysis found. Advocates say it would be chea...
