Industrial scale trawling threatens the complete collapse of sprat populations on which the incredibly rich marine ecosystem of Bantry Bay depends.

SAVE OUR SPRAT is campaigning for a moratorium on all such activity until the species recovers.

Please join or support us!!

We here at Save Our Sprat want to stop the indiscriminate fishing of Sprat in Bantry Bay to ensure its future as a key link in the food chain on which our marine life and the people around the Bay are dependent on.

"Seas off Cork a 'marine desert' due to overfishing of sprat, says owner of whale-watching business."

Sprat, the basis of entire ecosystems, is being hoovered out to turn into fishmeal, an *insanely* wasteful process.

Who or what gives them the right???

As Ryanair drops its carbon offset option on its flights due to a lack of uptake, it's important to remember that trying to buy our way out of the crisis is not the meaningful radical change that we need.

Shocking rise in power consumption in just a few very recent years by big tech is indicative of the serious problem of data centres and their exponential growth. Buying carbon offsets is plugging a dam with your finger.

hey lovelies, I finally got around to publicly sharing my compilation of big tech energy and emissions data. I'll be using it in articles, posts etc but it's yours too, free to use (w/ attribution is nice)

One huge problem with the big focus on tree planting is that a forest is not just trees - its a community of interacting plants and animals

Most trees depend on animals to disperse their seeds, but seed dispersers are dying out everywhere
