Sometimes, when the caregivers are using the hose, the girls come over and ask to be sprayed. 😄 Of course, they are happy to oblige!

The sanctuary elephants graze on the naturally growing grasses and other plants. 💚 It's a simple freedom that some of our residents did not have for decades in their previous lives.

a little more delicate in how she picks her trunkfuls. There might still be a few roots attached, but each blade has been picked more carefully (and is cleaner) than those of her companion. Regardless of how each elephant eats their greenery, the end result is the same: a nice, big, tasty bite.
