We need to be better allies to each other. Hate, bigotry and violence are not directed just to one group. It is a mistake to be siloed in our outrage and condemnation.

Today is a bitter-sweet reflective day for me. It is the 5th anniversary of the sudden death of my long time friend and fellow-gourmand Pierre. It is also the birthday of my loyal canine companion Max. I honor them both today.
