I’m so sick and tired of literally everything everywhere being a catastrophe at all levels at all times. I don’t feel like I’ve felt truly relaxed in over a decade. Nothing is immediately threatening me besides the lack of SNAP payments, but I just hurt for everyone and everything.

The name Bakiribu waridza derives from Kariri words: bakiribú (“comb”) and waridzá (“mouth”), referring to the animal’s comb-like dentition. The name also honors the Indigenous peoples native to the Araripe region, Brazil.

Hi, I'm Nora, this is my first post here :3

Here, my redesign of Unknown (from Monster Hunter Frontier) for a MH Spec-evo AU that I'm building. This is just for my pfp, but there's way more redesigns, lore, and other original additions, so I'll slowly begin posting more of it ^^

It’s a minor thing, but I hope Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age emphasises that birds are dinosaurs this time. It’d make a great way to create a bridge between the two time periods, and make for some shock-wow factor for lay audiences where that’s still surprisingly poorly understood.

After a month or so, we return to the Kem Kem with this adorable critter - the metre-long Araripesuchus! There are many species of Araripesuchus, but the one here is A. rattoides, which sports protruding teeth on the front of the lower jaw.

Fish of the genus Brycon are found in freshwater habitats in much of the known world, though are at their most abundant and diverse in the Seridic Wetlands. They are omnivores, primarily eating vegetation with a range of small fish and invertebrates.

Quick sketches of a concept I just had for my personal spec-evo project, a Kerguelen “Panther” that’s actually a cat-convergent Tritylodont. It’d be one of the apex predators of the Kerguelen landmass during the Holocene, sometimes attacking adult “dragons”. All of this is a long-term WIP. #specevo

Let me attempt to articulate something. As a former participant in the "teenage nerds talk about dinosaurs online" scene, I think some of us who follow paleontology as adults or do dinosaur stuff professionally care too much about the specifics of what's being discussed there. (cont'd)
