We are thrilled to be opening this year's festival with the World Premiere of Alex Hetherington's portrait of Queer d/Deaf DJ Simon Eilbeck. Formed from 16mm film, The Disco encounters members of the Queer communities who gather at Simon's monthly disco Hot Mess.

Born into poverty in a Midlothian mining community in 1934, Bill Douglas, the namesake of our annual award for international short film, became one of Scotland’s most celebrated film directors. His films are celebrated for their honest and innovative approach to storytelling.
