I got coverage back for my first pilot tonight I was scared to open it as I didn’t want to read potentially tough feedback 2 hours before the new year. I took a chance & opened it. The reader LOVED IT! The notes are easy fixes and far less than what’s working!! #scriptsky #writersky #happynewyear

I got new headshots yesterday and the photographer said they would be to me to choose until this evening because we shot 1400 photos 😩 that have to be narrow down to 5!!! Who wants to help me choose?! 🥴🥴

People say no one helps anyone. Not my experience. My #newbie came into big $ & starting a midwest writers' retreat (low $). Another asked ways to help newbs in his group. 1 writer invited another newb to show him how to design a package to attract actors. Kindness is also small. #screenwriter

Update she came back today and helped me finish it! 😂 it came out decent!
She started it off like she was going to help then ghosted me now I done bought leeks and celery and shit I’ve never cooked with and it look like compost. I just ahead and ordered Taco Bell instead 😩
So my friend texts me & say she’s going to get some healthy foods and im like I should too b/c I wanna make a healthy soup now’s mind you she’s made it before so I’m thinking she gone walk me through it so I send a pic of the stuff why she stopped responding like baby this was not a group project 😂😩

Ive noticed A LOT of creatives doing the same thing, going through the motions “talking” about what they want with no action behind it. My goals started checking off once the work was behind it. Advocate for yourself. Listening to other ppl and podcasts don’t matter if you aren’t working on yourself
I moved permanently to LA in 2017 but I didn’t lock in to my career until 2021 and what by that is I was physically here and talking the talk of my goal but didn’t ACTUALLY make steps to obtaining them until 2021. Once I made the effort doors began opening I didn’t even realize I should knock on.

Wicked is a visual representation of what it’s like being black for many of us. I cried during the wizard & I of her wanting to be another “color” for the sake of being accepted even though being “green” is her super power. Boy have I battled with that notion many times! #wicked #blacksky #filmsky

We should do a group screenwriter cruise out of LA. People can schedule generals before/after while they're there and we can have an all inclusive writer's retreat for less than the cost of a conference. Bonus, you can bring your family. Did you know cruises have free daycare for kids over 3?
