Israel killed 5 children in Gaza today who were just trying to get water as Israel starves them. When this article was published, this morning at 11:30 am ET, nearly 80 Palestinians had been executed by Israel. By the end of the day Israel had killed 20 more. www.theguardian.com/world/2025/s...

Importantly, the IAGS Gaza Resolution recognizes that Israel has already destroyed a substantial part of the Palestinian group by killing and maiming (I would add starving and stunting) tens of thousands of children.

I used to go at enormous lengths debating my fellow Ukrainians (especially pro-Israel ones) telling them that if we lose the war, our situation will be very much like that of Palestine. People laughed at me.
"Russia and the United States have discussed Israel’s occupation of the West Bank as a model for ending the war in Ukraine"

“Ukraine will never give up its sovereignty. But the reality is it’ll be occupied territory and the model is Palestine.”

An abomination.

Ezra Klein's interview with Philippe Sands is very good overall.

But I want to reiterate that the ICJ has never said that the definition of genocide requires a "single intent."

Nor does the ICJ's standard of proof preclude a finding of genocide in cases of plural intent.

Scandalous.

Not "preemptive."

Illegal.

There is no evidence of an actual or imminent armed attack by Iran.

This is a blatant violation of the UN Charter.

It has no legal basis in the right of self-defense.

Now we wait to see how many civilians will die because of this insanity.

The prosecutorial approach of criminalising parents fleeing from horrors with their children -- to keep them safe -- on the ground that they are people smugglers is just pure cruelty.
The CJEU has ruled that Member States cannot prosecute asylum-seeking mothers who travelled on false documents with their children as people smugglers - in a judgment with broader implications for the criminalisation of immigration.
