Russia and China, have ramped up recruitment efforts targeting US federal employees—particularly those recently fired or at risk of termination. These efforts are unfolding aggressively on LinkedIn, where adversaries are reaching out under the guise of job opportunities, networking, and consulting.

Today’s hike in the family homeland, to check on recovery from 2022’s Hermits Peak-Calf Canyon fire, the largest wildfire in New Mexico history (so far). Verdict: it’s complicated, but beauty remains. So does the need for a lot more restoration work. And a lot of community healing.

Dang. Small changes with huge consequences.
Here's a schematic I published in this 2021 piece to illustrate how even a modest delay in onset of rainy season in Southern California can dramatically amplify wildfire risk by lengthening seasonal overlap between dry vegetation and strong offshore winds during Oct-Jan. #CAfire

A surprise perk of spending time with New Mexico family is that the local PBS channels include FNX, First Nations Experience, where you can stumble upon great shows like Moosemeat and Marmalade, or Finding Nemo dubbed over in Diné.
Now you, too, can enjoy this content from anywhere!
Ya'll FNX has just released a free streaming app for Native content! Just downloaded it and they have some great content up...if you haven't seen The Lesser Blessed or read the book by Richard Van Camp, highly recommend!
