Just a dude who likes books.
This week I finished reading Book of the Dead Volume 4, by Rinoz. It’s peak. Remarkably well written evil protagonist, really interesting approach to necromancy as an in-universe magical science, really cool system and class system. Highly recommend checking the series out.

Sometimes when I go to DnD I’m still in customer service mode, and so I’ll be talking to an NPC and end the conversation with “is there anything else I can do for you? Have a great day, we hope to see you again!”

I’ve been listening to the Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis. Really quite a thought-provoking story, and it has me feeling inspired artistically, so here’s a sketch of Screwtape and Wormwood (and Glubose, kind of):

This week I finished reading the 5th book of Keiran the Eternal Mage by D.E. Sherman, the last book in the series. An ancient arcmage is reborn thousands of years later into a post-apocalyptic world where magic has almost vanished from the world. Across the series he slowly works to regain his past

Not to interrupt my streak of only posting book reviews, but today I finally deleted my Twitter. Not only is it nice to contribute to Twitter’s plummeting social and market value, but also between getting rid of the Twitter app and Reddit app, I’m wasting a whole lot less time. Now I just need

This week I’ve been reading Battlemage Farmer by Seth Ring. I’ve really liked it thus far, I’m four books into the series and fully intend to read through to the end. Basically the main character, John, has fought in many battles and is now retiring to be a farmer, which he does in unconventional

This week I read Psyker Marine by Jake Malory. It’s a sci-fi LitRPG, pretty clearly inspired by the likes of Halo and Warhammer 40k. Aliens invade, other aliens come to the rescue, humans get rpg powers and some get power armor. Unfortunately it’s not very well written. I really wanted to like this

This week I finished reading the last book of Ascendence of a Bookworm (Part 5 Volume 12, AKA book 33) by Miya Kazuki. This series is awesome! It’s Japanese, there’s an anime based on it, and it’s probably the best written isekai I’ve ever read. Myne feels like an actual character, and it doesn’t

This week I ALSO finished reading Reincarnated as a Dragon Hatchling Book 9 by Necoco. It’s a Japanese LitRPG/isekai, sometimes being called Doratama for short. Low key I love this series. It’s everything I want from a LitRPG with a monster protagonist. Cool evolutions, the protagonist actually

This week I finished reading Rune Seeker Book 5 by JM Clarke and CJ Thompson. The series is pretty fun. Really feels like reading a first person description of someone’s experience playing an open world RPG. Lot of funny running jokes, good character dynamics, and general sense of progression that

This week I finished reading Book 3 of Dungeon Life by Khenal. It was kind of a hard read, tbh. The book is about 90 chapters of build up to a major battle and then 10 chapters of the battle. At first it’s good, the slice of life dungeon core stuff is decently fun, and the last battle is good.

This week I finished reading Book of the Dead 3: Masquerade by RinoZ. This book slaps. It’s an excellent LitRPG, and holy cow it’s actually a really well written evil protagonist. Tyrion’s slow descent into evil feels really organic, without him ever feeling like a murder hobo. 11/10 #litrpg

This week I finished reading Eight Book 4: New Blood, Old Bones by Samer Rabadi. It was pretty fun! His writing style is both pretty funny and kind of poetic. The first book in the series is a little rough, but book two onwards are real page turners! Love the mezoamerican fantasy vibes.

Just got caught up on book two of a Cultivation series called “Immortality Starts with Generosity” by Plutus. 4/5, I highly recommend it. It’s got kind of a mystery box thing going on with the protagonist’s family, giving JUST enough bits of information to keep me theorizing. #cultivation #royalroad
