As someone who loves a good chart (and spends a lot of time making them), it's great to get the full FT data viz treatment for our latest culture wars study - even if the data is revealing some deeply worrying signs about where we're heading as a country... on.ft.com/3WFCBH1

The Times on our study updating 1969 NOP poll - worth saying that alone doesn't = lonely, many will be making a choice, though will also reflect big shifts in how/where we live @policyatkings.bsky.social @kingscollegelondon.bsky.social

We really do just love banning things as a nation...

This is a good eg, but nothing beats that lockdown poll that showed one in five supported a permanent/indefinite ban on leaving home after 10pm “without good reason”
With Australia implementing a ban on under-16s having social media accounts, 72% of Britons would back the same thing in the UK

Such important work from @michael-sanders.bsky.social and his team - great example of research with real-world impact.

Follows on from similarly valuable work they’ve just done on reducing use of force by police: www.kcl.ac.uk/news/police-...
“Researchers are conducting the UK’s first major scientific trials to establish whether giving homeless people cash is a more effective way of reducing poverty than traditional forms of help.”

This prediction blog by @benansell.bsky.social is very good, although I am biased by it chiming both with my own very uninformed instincts and what I would like to happen. open.substack.com/pub/benansel...
