There are really only 2 cases in the pandemic. 1. Reff>1, where the pandemic grows exponentially until a significant part of the population is either chronically ill or dead. OR 2. Reff<=0.9999... where the pandemic exponentially decays towards elimination. Understanding this changes everything.
