The otter keeper gave this baby otter a sock to keep warm. She later turned it into a onesie with holes for the hands, feet, and tail

Lately, the bad weather has kept us from getting out to look for whales, so we’ve been looking back at some of our favorite summer encounters.

One encounter that really stands out for us was on July 1, 2023.

Here’s a short highlight clip from the longer video available on our YouTube channel!

Rob says today's #BirdOfTheDay theme is #LongLegsAndNeck any birds with both. Alternative theme of #BirdsOnFeeders

From the archives, a Sandhill Crane, with long legs and neck, still wanted to get higher for a better view, so hopped onto a bench on the boardwalk! #birds #photography #EastCoastKin

The interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS will make its closest approach to Earth TODAY, Dec. 19, 2025.
By the way, scientists confirm it won’t hit us — it’ll pass at about 1.8 AU (~270 million km) away and poses no threat as it continues out of our Solar System.
