I think Americans are realizing that democracy is a participation sport, and the the government is ours if we want it to be. I feel like we got complacent and hoped some other third party would do the work for us. Seems like we have to learn that lesson every generation.

On this date in 1979 baseball fans stormed into Comiskey Park and smashed disco albums. It was never about hatred for disco. It was about the fact that minorities were successful in disco music & LGBTs felt more comfortable being open through disco music. This pissed off racists & homophobes.

As someone who works in one of these top hospitals, I can tell you that too many of these hospitals are terrible with their money. And patients pay the price for this. These places are buying up smaller, crappy hospitals & then cutting staff at their main hospital. It's pathetic.
