Wrting a short story is no easier than writing a novel. In fact, it's somewhat harder, because the form is less forgiving: you can get away with a certain amount of bagginess in a novel, but a short story needs to be perfectly structured; not a word out of place.

After seven months of focussing on #shortstories and #poetry I am back working on my #scifi novel. First I had to read over the 13,000 words already written to reimmerse myself in that world. Feeling energised. #writerslife
Insightful.
Fiction and fantasy aren't "fake" any more than light seen through a prism is fake. It's just seen from a different perspective. Light seen through a prism is still light. Truth seen through a story is still the truth.
