As a journalist covering Ukraine, having the Russian Embassy "take note" of my work in a sinister post filled with nonsense is an incredibly high honour. So, of course, I had it framed.

Russian state outlet RT has been tricked by an April Fool's article into publishing a false story claiming the UK commissioned a new aircraft carrier - HMS Prince Andrew.

The original article said it would carry “infinity-hundred” jets launched via catapult.

A major milestone for Type 26 Frigate HMS Birmingham as a massive section of the ship, built at Cammell Laird in Birkenhead, arrives at @baesystems.com yard in Glasgow for final assembly. The Royal Navy’s future fleet is taking shape, and @geoallison.ukdefencejournal.org.uk went to take a look.

I didn’t know cars or rockets, so I figured Elon Musk was a genius. But I do know fighter jets, and he’s saying the stupidest shit I’ve ever heard, so perhaps his cars and rockets aren't too cool? (Nod: Rod Hilton)

Apparently, it would cost more than £600 for the Scottish Government to gather some emails about their involvement in securing frigate work. Instead of narrowing the request, they rejected it outright on cost grounds—now I’ve had to submit three separate FOIs. Efficient? Nah.
