This is literally the Good Samaritan story. Permission to send to my folks as a sermon illustration? Mom runs a high school drop-in and a community cupboard out of her church, so I imagine she will get a kick out of it.

It's probably bad form to mention my deceased cat in my dating profile but I don't want people to ask about my cats and have another breakdown when I remember one is around.
Also, try not to own the same clothes that are the colour of your cat because you will assume it's them sleeping.
