If you need any more proof that the MAGA right is literally delusional, consider the fact that they think Ross’s body-cam footage shows him being hit by the car. They could just as accurately claim it shows the DOJ releasing the remaining 99% of the Epstein files.

The constant lies, the gaslighting, the cruelty, flouting the law, the rank indecency… I’m so tired of it all. The candidate who pledges legal consequences for these sociopaths from the top on down gets my vote in 2028.

MAGA’s take: Let’s ignore the clear, close-up video in favor of the much more distant one from an angle that obscures most of what happened but which, when you squint, kind of makes it look like the killer got nudged by the left front corner of the car as the victim turned hard right, away from him.

Back in the day, as a typical white kid, I had no idea the Zeppelin song The Crunge was a James Brown “tribute/parody/rip-off,” to quote Robert Christgau. I’m sure most kids didn’t know that. “Have you seen the bridge?” We all thought Robert Plant was looking for the Golden Gate or something.

This bizarre about-face can only mean one thing: Trump’s DOJ and FBI are destroying any incriminating evidence against Trump. Or maybe Trump has gotten an assurance that the votes won’t be there in the Senate, leaving him free to change his position.

The Senate will need a veto-proof majority to get the files released, and I don’t know if that’s possible.

Outrageously, Mike Johnson has been refusing to swear in Adelita Grijalva since she was elected 35 days ago, because hers would be the last signature needed on the discharge petition to force a vote on releasing the Epstein files. Why in the world would Trump and his minions be so against this?
