Yep. Totally normal headline for world’s richest country. Nothing to worry about.

Theres a monster of a fucking game to play still

Dems weren’t going to win this on getting what they wanted

They won in taking any shadow of a doubt of what the GOP is willing to do to their own voters

Midterms were always the real game

Not this

I think I’m just at the point where I don’t need to hear people in steady jobs with access to food and healthcare telling other people to eat pain
November 10, 2025 at 1:21 AM
I’m seeing a lot of this messaging of “people need to learn from pain”

I think the shutdown proved the point republicans are ok watching you die.

We don’t actually need to force people to die to prove it more.

Primary people. Or run on this messaging. Seems like there’s still a lot of momentum
Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

Actual good faith question for polls like this

How many people in this panel have anything to lose from a prolonged shutdown?

I want to know what the people on the receiving end of this are feeling and what they want. And I don’t feel like I’m seeing that.
We polled Indivisible members over the weekend on whether Dems should take a deal or keep fighting for the ACA subsidies. Results: 98.67% said keep fighting.

Dems who vote to surrender now are fracturing their own party in a way that will reverberate loudly in the primaries.
So Democrats get:

1. A CR that will prevent the GOP from facing the wrath of Americans for a shutdown over the holidays

2. A coupon for one (1) meaningless ACA vote that will fail

3. An end to the illegal RIF/SNAP moves that are already before the courts

Those all seem like wins for the GOP.

What Dems can learn from this election.

Speak to people’s problems

That’s it

Whatever problems affect the community you aim to represent

Speak to their problems

Trump is not your platform
Fixing things is

Thinking more about this and I think it's a good time for the Dems to end the shutdown. Trump and GOP have already proven themselves willing to be unbelievably cruel in pursuit of tax cuts

Seriously. What the fuck is the @nytimes.com even doing anymore?

Between this and douthat saying the president is king to do whatever he wants it’s absolutely insane.

This is exactly why nobody likes Harris.

Adopts a position once it’s been marketed tested and 2 years too late.

No one is saying she’s not smart, qualified or whatever. Shes just a terrible candidate on a national level.

Dems. You have a bench. Please pull someone up. Anyone.

The biggest difference between republicans and democrats when they’re out of power.

Republicans are very clear what they will do with power once they get it back.

Democrats just make vague “this is bad” statements.

Good joke bro. Really fucking got him with that one 🥁

Why are these clowns in leadership?
I think Trump has been sniffing too much of his own bronzer.

Kind of crazy that the biggest excuse for we can't have cheap and affordable cars to compete against Chinese imports is because unions.

Meanwhile Ford has spent over a billion dollars in buybacks over the last 3 years.

There's such an insanely good libertarian/anti-establishment argument to be made for solar panels to those who don't give a shit about global warming.

If only we had a functioning democratic party who understood how to craft different messages for different audiences.

What a world that would be...

If you told me in high school I’d ever have an article in @2600.com I probably wouldn’t believe it. But here we are and I couldn’t be more excited. Have already gotten some outreach from some very awesome people.

Hope you like it!

One of the best moments of government interaction I’ve had was listening to sewage treatment worker describe in detail, with pride and with enthusiasm the way he helps turn raw sewage into clean water.

People need to see that government is a lot of regular people who love helping others.
Imagine if @aoc @sanders.senate.gov , every dem, SIMULTANEOUSLY held Town Halls where they allowed grant and contract recipients to explain to the country what it is they do and why it's important

Leaders like @schumer.senate.gov and @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social deserve all the tools at their disposal. That's why it's up to us to educate them.

Help me support our leaders by giving them a middle schooler's understanding of how the government works.

They need our help.
