This month I’m walking 100km to raise money for the Royal Flying Doctor Service as part of the Oceans to Outback challenge. It’s a good cause providing vital medical services to some of the most remote people in Australia.

Upshot the first: I found the song after listening to hundreds of 70s and 80s Japanese funk and disco songs. (It was Kanpoo by Yumi Murata off her 1983 album Drywindasian)

Had a song stuck in my head I hadn’t heard for two years. Didn’t know the name, didn’t remember the artist or lyrics. So what do I do? Listen to almost the entire genre of course.

Only the seat here is really a migrant, but the birds are great to see out and about too. The white fluffball is an owlet nightjar, Australia’s smallest nocturnal bird and often quite hard to spot as they spend the daytime roosting in hollows.
