Here’s some good news: Brown Avenue Elementary in Johnston swapped their plastic-foam lunch trays for stainless steel, cutting its lunch waste from nine 50-gallon bags, to just one-third of a bag.
Most U.S. schoolchildren toss their lunch trays every day. Here’s a better way.
A Rhode Island school is ditching plastic foam trays at lunchtime in favor of reusable stainless steel trays and sporks. It’s cut lunch waste 90 percent.
