Although these figures are estimates (so should be treated with caution) these results suggest that the gannet population has not yet started to recover from the impact of the avian flu outbreak in 2022.

It's very simple to take part in BBS and very little time commitment- just a couple of hours on two visits. There are more challenging squares with a big walk in and mountain to climb, but for most squares, very easy.

#Bass looking good Quite a few eggs seen at due date. All the behaviour we expect Gaping bowing jabbing bonding, nest building and thieving! Looking.good It will take years to recover from HPAI but exciting to watch new birds take to sites @seabirdcentre.bsky.social
