#ARCRaiders has player challenges — find a certain piece of gear, do a certain amount of damage to ARCs, etc. I was dismayed to see a new one pop up for searching the bodies of 10 downed fellow players. It had been so chill & collaborative & fun, but incentivised PvP aggression is instant bad vibes.

So Many Games has gone from strength to strength since it started. It's a great little indie game site.

No AI slop, no mandatory cookie crap, no half-baked SEO articles, no video popovers — just good reviews of interesting games.

They're doing it right. I became a patron.
The So Many Games Patreon is now LIVE!!

Anyone that joins at the £4 or £8 tier will be able to choose a free Steam code from either Ultros, Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure, PaperKlay or Fading Serenades!

A week never goes by without #Spotify appearing more rotten.

Your algorithmic, ostensibly listening-based recommendations include paid ads in disguise.

This in addition to allegations of creating AI slop music, underpaying artists, AI war drone-gate, ICE ads-gate, etc. #BoycottSpotify

#possessors is out today. I've been playing in the pre-release window and found it to be a sleek, dark metroidvania with plenty of that inimitable Heart Machine style. youtube.com/shorts/SbKTn...

The #ARCRaiders key art really like, got me. Part Star Wars, part Fallout, part Starfield, with that awesome C90-VHS-Polaroid vibe. And an Opencritic 93! Too tempting. So I jumped in, even though it's... you know. A word-salad PvPvE extraction-whatever—"and you won't believe what happened next."

I'm daft for getting sucked into ARC Raiders hype :') but hey I did have a couple of games of the old "run around a bit then die, confused", which is the entire story of me and online multiplayer.

I mean, The Game Awards has always been a glorified ad block that seems tangibly inconvenienced by honouring the people who make games.

It's not a surprise that any gesture towards supporting the people or the culture around games is... well. Exactly that. A gesture.

The stuff so many former Games Awards "Future Class" alums are sharing is shocking. The organisation selected the brightest and brightest — then rudely demeaned them, making it 1000% clear they were *only* there to act as TGA "we're a nice brand, we love devs" window dressing.
Still thinking about the “official” 2023 Future Class meetup after we had to pay for our own travel to LA/hotel/tickets to the Game Awards, only to stand on a sidewalk outside a Starbucks where they wouldn’t even cover the cost of our shitty coffees 🫠
