This weeks writeup is on Q-Up, an incremental coin flipper.
It's a game I really like, but also wish I loved.
Q-Up - Gametrodon
Q-Up is a satire of live service, tech companies, startups, and quantum computing. I really like it, but I wish I loved it.

My primary work tool is also my favorite procrastination machine. I'm not sure that was a good idea.

I have to wonder if they just couldn’t get the rights to Will Ferrell, or if something else happened here.

I think I might have the worst art workflow the world has ever seen.

Naming Cards: "Yes, Collaborative Corn is a great name! Fun alliteration, on theme, just perfect"
Drawing Cards: "How on gods green earth do I make corn look collaborative? What does that even look like?"

Why yes, I do like Q-Up.

Q-Up looks like it's gonna be incredibly weird, and I am here for it.
Please wishlist if you haven't!

I know wishlists are fake but it looks like we're hovering right under the threshold of being shown on the main Upcoming Releases page tomorrow so maybe not fake?? who knows but I want to make another game so wishlist please

Q-UP on Steam
Sick of long queues, unfair matchups, and arbitrary reflex tests? Try Q-UP, the coin flipping eSport. It's one part clicker, one part multiplayer strategy game, one part demented capitalism simulator,...

This is the first time I've seen a crowdfunding campaign actively admit that the "goals" on the campaign are not actually accurate to what is needed to produce to the product. Interesting to see.
Altered, the trading card game which broke Kickstarter records with its €6.2m debut crowdfund two years ago, is running almost €2m short of the amount needed for its latest expansion - despite having raised more than 10x its crowdfunding goal from backers:

I've spent like 25 hours on Ball X Pit, and I'm prepared to say that it is truly a game I have spent 25 hours playing.

Ball X Pit - Gametrodon
I found Ball X Pit to be a compelling experience, but not one that really "Sparked Joy". It's a weird zone to occupy.

Find a No Kings protest Saturday and go!

Don't worry that you've never been to a protest before. Don't worry about being dressed wrong or looking out of place. Don't worry that you don't agree about everything -- or even about much -- with lots of people at the protest.

"I'd like you to draw me a dragon"
"A what?"
"A dragon. You know what a dragon is right? You've seen pictures of dragons?"
"Uh, yeah. Of course"

What's a game that's hard to learn, but easy to master?

@cwgabriel.bsky.social So... just finished reading the last part of the The Blessing, and now I'm wondering... did most of the trees in the Eyrewood... not start out as trees?

I’ve been playing a fair bit of Battlefield 6, and every time I finish a game I go “Wow, I really paid $70 for this”

Me: Why would anyone buy a console when you can just game on PC?
Me, after 45 minutes of mucking about with computer bullshit to try to play Battlefield: Oh, that's why.

This weeks writeup was on the Q-UP demo! It's a really cool and weird incremental game that seems to be a send up of... well a bunch of things!
Q-UP Demo - Gametrodon
Q-Up is a game about flipping coins, hostile corporate takeovers, a satire of the state of live service games, and send up of E-Sports.

I’m gonna be real, I feel like I’m deeply out of the loop on this one.

But I don’t also don’t think it’s worth it to play Unfair Flips.

Unfair Flips is bad, and it deeply confuses me to as why everyone thinks it is good. Maybe I'm just stupid.
