My last name is apparently harder than it is.

Down to talk about gaming and/or Star Wars.

Proud to have made friends through Kinda Funny & Easy Allies.

Super late, but the Xbox Partner Showcase was solid, & while Tides of Annihilation showed well (but not as appealing as its reveal from February's State of Play), Zoopunk was my highlight.

F.I.S.T. (Forged in Shadow Torch) is an awesome metroidvania & the sequel as a 3rd person action game is wild.

My thoughts on this year's The Game Awards categories, in the style of:

Category: What I'm pulling for/What I predict wins.

NOTE: For having no stake/knowledge of them, I abstain from all E-sports, Content Creator, VR/AR, Mobile, & Games for Impact categories.

Still would like for this to happen.
With today's Steam Machine announcement, I *really* want to chat with any of my friends (who were willing of course) who are versed in Steam to sit down with me and kind of "consult" on whether this would be my entry point to Steam (factoring in my gaming preferences).

So if you know me, hit me up.

Between Valve announcing their new Steam Machine, Steam Frame, and Steam Controller, Sony showing off not one but two major mobile games (Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble and Horizon: Steel Frontiers), Nintendo dropping the first Super Mario Galaxy Movie trailer, ALL of which has happened *TODAY*

Borderlands 4 completed (mostly).

After taking a little over 90 hours to do all that I can until post-game (which I've started a little of), I can say with some confidence this is the best Borderlands to date, beating out BL2.

Massively improved writing, story, controls, and gunplay standout.

Trying to decide how to handle some surplus vacation time, and I'm fundamentally split, so, naturally, to social media to gauge what others would do.

Context: I cannot exceed 320 hours of accrued vacation time or anything over the limit gets erased (typical case of "use it or lose it.")

Of the many, Many, MANY times I've been wrong in life, there are extremely few, if any, where I'm so overjoyed and ecstatic to be wrong as I am than in this moment.

I hate college kids.

Apropos of nothing, earphones are one of humanity's greatest inventions.

That is all.

Now that I've considered it for a bit, today's ONL was ok, though forgettable. Last year's was slightly better, but my biggest take-away this year is all the biggest stuff was pre-announced to be a part of the show, which actually probably hurt it in the long run.

Heretic + Hexen revisit completed

It's been decades since I played Heretic and revisiting it now was such a lovely time, especially with all the quality of life improvements. Hexen meanwhile, isn't as strong, and does kind of a bad job letting you know what to do/where to go.

Still, well worth it.

It hit the inbox weeks ago, but circumstances had me wait until now to finally get my hands on my copy.

Hello old friend. You were greatly missed.

I do not pre-order games, so the following may be long held common knowledge by many:

I was about to start up the Heretic + Hexen port on Xbox only to discover the free Gears of War: Reloaded code I got for being an Ultimate Edition owner just dropped the near 70 GB download today...

Just found out about this & while I'm still about an hour & change from getting home from work to instantly buy & download these, I couldn't help but log on to say this announcement makes me incredibly happy.

It's been literal decades since I've played these & now they're finally on console.
We played the Heretic & Hexen re-release ahead of its announcement at QuakeCon 2025, so how about a quick FPS history lesson and chat with some of the folks responsible for it.

Taking the rare opportunity to pop on here to say the only subreddit I ever visit, Made Me Smile, is 100% super effective at always leaving me in a better place, even if I'm net neutral and just looking to burn a little time.

Seriously: If you're ever down, just scroll that page. It's wonderful.

Monument Valley III finished.

Normally, I try to say "completed" when I finally stop a first playthrough, but the delightful surprise of a free Winter 2025 update with an additional chapter coming at the end lets me know there's more to come.

I know the news is only a few hours old, but now is the earliest opportunity for me to lament:

The world grows ever darker, though it's the passing of its prince that shows how truer that becomes.

System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster completed.

After playing (& really liking) the 2023 System Shock Remake last year, I wanted to give this a go.

Ultimately, this is also a good game, but I like SS1: Remake more. SS2 could do with a remake, as it takes time to get used to 1999 design.

*Fires up Astro Bot to knock out the new (and I presume last) five free levels.

*Frustrated by the first couple for a while, but finish them.

*Second two are a bit easier, with a delightful surprise at the end.

*Final challenge unlocks. Commences an hour of trying. I hate this game.

If anyone ever questions the power of Blue Prince, I just got a text from a cousin who lives on the other side of the country I haven't seen/talked to in ages & she says she's so obsessed she, "can't shut up about it," & I find it touching & hysterical family shunted her my way.

Video games!

The games industry exhausts me, and I'm just a shmuck who loves games and likes listening to friends talk about them.

To everyone who has been forced out, I'm sorry what you love(d) didn't love you back.

To everyone still in it that's not a C-Suite exec., I admire your resolve.

After being delayed a bit, I just finished the *official* Gettys on Stage celebration of Tim and Gia's wedding from last year.

Good people those Gettys'.

Congrats again, a year later to House Gettys. And happy birthday Tim!
