An obscure cpu clone of a #GameBoy won't support a system RTC date past 2011.

Found this Y2K12 bug while disassembling the system ROM of the #MegaDuck laptop model. The hardware itself could do it, but I guess they didn't think anyone would still use the console 15 years later (made in ~1995)
bbbbbr ‪@bbbbbr.bsky.social‬ Been reverse engineering (keyboard, rtc, etc) the #MegaDuck #SuperQuiQue laptop. It's like #GameBoy #Workboy except it actually shipped. It has same GB compatible cpu (sm83) and with slightly altered registers as Megaduck Handheld. Anyhow, turns out the System ROM has a Y2K12 bug, max year 2011😄

This really cool ROM patch “Game Boy Camera Lite” opens the game directly into the Camera. Custom ROM “Photo!” has done this for a while, but the image processing algorithm is different between the two ROMs - plus, it’s nice to have choices (and access to DJ Trippy) www.romhacking.net/hacks/9213/
