Arp 283 is a pair of interacting galaxies (consisting of NGC 2798 & 2799). The yellow/blue color contrast is nicely mirrored by two (neighboring bright stars rounding off this ensemble quite appealingly. bit.ly/4lB3t68 🔭#astrophotography

We are continuing to expand our efforts to protect the night skies.

ESO signed an agreement with the IAU's Centre for the Protection of the Dark and Quiet Sky to become a contributing partner.

Cosmic contrasts: the planetary nebula IBHASX J055226.2+323724 is located in the 500 million year old open star cluster M37. It is only the 3rd example of an association between a PN and open cluster! It seems to be the oldest PN found so far. bit.ly/4lB3t68 🔭#astrophotography🔭📷

NGC974 is a SB galaxy located in Triangulum. The distorted spiral arms hint towards interaction with NGC969. Other gals in the pix: NGC 970, a companion of NGC969; NGC978 with PGC9823; NGC971 is a star that is in NGC by error. bit.ly/4lB3t68 🔭#astrophotography🔭📷
