50years ago I started out as an apprentice Radio and Television engineer, can remember at the time having this on the bench. Got a well battered version to restore one day, but to my delight, this excellent example of a DAC90A was at the Retrotech show last week, very cheap, so home it came 😁

Wasn’t expecting this, was a spur of moment decision to have a go on 5w and a bit of wire, to show that you can take part and work some nice DX…sure they are doing all the hard work, but what a confidence boost for anyone running QRP..as usual ducked in and out between things.

Year ago as now, that redundancy brought early retirement….what a year it’s been, some good, some bad, some very upsetting with SK’s..

44 cards from bureau today, some a good few years old, guess should get some printed, do others still do paper, it’s great to see the designs, some local history and SWL reports…who do you use for printing?

Well I never, my 705 SDR app has CW decode and tx..only ever used for FT8…
Seems to copy good CW OK..far to fast for me…but interestingly can make out some characters and the infamous 5NN
