50years ago I started out as an apprentice Radio and Television engineer, can remember at the time having this on the bench. Got a well battered version to restore one day, but to my delight, this excellent example of a DAC90A was at the Retrotech show last week, very cheap, so home it came 😁

Wasn’t expecting this, was a spur of moment decision to have a go on 5w and a bit of wire, to show that you can take part and work some nice DX…sure they are doing all the hard work, but what a confidence boost for anyone running QRP..as usual ducked in and out between things.

44 cards from bureau today, some a good few years old, guess should get some printed, do others still do paper, it’s great to see the designs, some local history and SWL reports…who do you use for printing?

Bit of fun, but still get a buzz that we can receive pictures from space easily with modest equipment…how we have progressed since started out in the hobby in the 70s
