It’s my birthday. I don’t want to think about the hateful 8 who couldn’t hold the line. Just for a few hours, I want to think about my associates who decorated my office, and the weather that decorated my yard, and the cats keeping my legs warm.

… because Xillenials & Millenials finally gave up on home ownership, moved in w parents and/or half a dozen roommates, and now have $$ to make life tolerable and full of good wine, fancy at-home cocktails, and massive charcuterie spreads inspired by childhoods full of lunchables and grape juice.

That’s a spicy 🌶️ cutting board. This is just a tiny fraction of our pepper harvest thus far. Cherry bombs, scotch bonnets, Thai chilis, cayennes, Cajun bells, mini sweet bells, and jalapeños of course! The poblanos should be ready next week!

First and last photos of my Luma. I picked her up at a rest stop in April of 2018. She passed away this morning after a series of strokes and a long bout of illness. She was my buddy. I’ve known for weeks this was coming, but that doesn’t make it easier.

My quince fruit tree is about to flower! I wasn’t sure it would, because it stayed dormant for so long into spring after I planted it, but I’m thrilled with all the new healthy growth!

Look at the little fiddlehead on my new fern! Two of the three bare roots have thrown at least one frond already (the third is still MIA, and I forgot to put markers on some of my bare roots, so I get to be surprised by them later this year or next spring 😂
