Improved on last year's entry in the Marconi Memorial contest (low power 100W section). 4th in G and 294th worldwide (last year 11th G, 330th worldwide). One fewer QSO this year but, surprisingly, the same number of counties worked.

I had a prearranged visit from an Ofcom engineer today. I was a little worried about his visit but with no reason because he was friendly. He went looking for the interference, hopefully he will email me an update next week although I suspect there will be a high chance they won't be able to fix it.

salomon.com said my order was shipped and with UPS on 28th April. It wasn't as UPS have now told me they are expecting the package. I do not appreciate being lied to as a customer.

On the eve of the 80th anniversary of VE day I thought it appropriate to share this snippet from the eulogy my sisters and I wrote for my mother's funeral earlier this year. She died suddenly just before Christmas aged 93.
