I watched this 31 year old episode of 60 Minutes btw. It was from right after Prop 187 had passed, and the segment on that was dripping wet with anti-immigration sentiment. CBS has been playing this game for a while and it's naive to pretend that began with Bari Weiss
I lied, this one has a handwritten label that says "Gypsy" and it turns out it's a recording of the version with Bette Midler, and it appears to be from Christmas 1994. They had also recorded the better part of 60 Minutes, and everything about this is surreal as hell

Mods?? Mods??!?!! I'm the target of an organized harassment campaign by the principled group of people who left Twitter not long after Elon Musk bought it— they're killing this site!!!
Ban them!! The management of this site is tanking it by refusing to take any measures against the class of leftist early adopters who use it as a kind of shooting gallery for recreational harassment. It’s absurd to ask users to hand-block hundreds of bad-faith trolls or identify their ringleaders.
Deleted a post that was going viral and bringing an undesirable amount of attention from anonymous accounts. But, I'm going to be honest, the toxic folks here have won. So much of the usage of the site is about avoiding their attention. I'll just use this site to get book recs going forward
