The prevailing narrative around increased injuries and player workload in elite football is wrong.

Players don’t play any more football than in the past. What has changed is a sharp rise in intensity of play.

Not more minutes, but each minute exerts more load.

These clubs now in "limbo" are in that situation because they chose to ignore the mountain of evidence that the Asian-facing bookies they were promoting were, by definition, providing illegal gambling services. The clubs are not victims, but co-conspirators.
