I am totally serious that I think What Would Bob Weir Do when picking shorts inseams. I'm not ripped my thighs are great. Sky's out thighs out. R.I.P. legend.
January 11, 2026 at 1:45 AM
Bob Weir has died. The world has lost not only a guitar legend but the single greatest advocate for thigh freedom in human history. Those Bobby Shorts had 0.75" inseams MAX. Undefeated. Unmatched. Unforgettable.

Data centers are not a "panel vibes" topic.

Serious conversation = who pays for grid upgrades (spoiler: the community), water plan, rate impact, actual quality jobs per MW, and community benefits in writing.

If the organizers can’t even publish a sponsor list or event details on their own site, I’m not taking their "community conversation" seriously.

somebody has made an autozone account with my phone number and is trolling me with insane purchases.

I guess they like Cherry?

My early-career X-Men identity was Rogue:
1. reluctantly touched a dozen cursed software systems and the knowledge permanently bonded to my soul
2. young with silver fox highlights and insanely hot because of it

Anyway this is why people love tools like Tanstack that clearly have a passionate human behind them. It shows - look - this thing exists because someone loves it not because some VC has a checklist

The team will move on
The roadmap will drift
The repo will go quiet
And you’ll be left with a half-supported thing in prod

The biggest productivity killer in tech is the existential dread of realizing the tool you’re learning today will be abandoned by it's maintainers in 18 months.

In the 90s you could go to ARIN and say "can I have two /16 blocks? I make butt wipe and soap" and walk away with 130 thousand IPv4 addresses.
December 27, 2025 at 1:31 AM
Proctor and Gamble had a bunch of super important IP addresses laying around. As you do when you make Frebreze I guess.

What do you generally use for a "read later" or "watch later" workflow? Everything seems broken.

Also I miss Google Reader.

I’m using Aptos like you wanted. I pasted from a text file. Why the hell are we back in Arial.
December 20, 2025 at 5:43 PM
I’ve been using Microsoft Word since Windows booted from a DOS prompt and I still don't know where paste formatting comes from.

Now it’s Times New Roman. Now it’s a Heading 1 in Arial. The rest of the doc is Aptos.

Word: "because fuck you that's why."

Hiring managers: "We're against AI use in interviews!" It's a risk-free position to take in public.

It's popular opinion. "It's cheating!" resonates with most of us!

Then the hypocrisy comes to light. They all use AI in the hiring process. Sourcing. Filtering. Sorting by a "score." AI note takers.

I love posting things that filter out companies that would suck to work for.

We're approaching peak capitalism. Brooks wrote about surgical teams and communication overhead. Someone turned it into a layoff memo. Beautiful.

Just heard the wildest Mythical Man Month take. Paraphrasing: "Adding people to late projects makes them later, so we should fire the bottom 33% to boost productivity per dollar."

Love watching executives use "McKinsey is firing thousands" as their personal thought leadership moment. Very cool, very normal behavior.
