Hey y'all! I am Fairweather, and I make singleplayer levels for Quake, Team Fortress 2 and Doom!

Here's some of my work, I typically focus on encounter design, but here's some pretty visuals to catch your eye. Reposts appreciated.
I think that the most convincing argument against using AI in almost any circumstance, is that if you do, you become dependant on the whims of a corporation for your creative endeavours. They want to have you pay to think, pay to make things with your own two hands.

These people literally believe that walking around a horribly hallucinated 3D environment is what video games are. I'm scared that they're right and in a decade there'll be a hard split between 'real' video games, and these fake scenarios.
Google has released Project Genie, an AI tool that generates characters and explorable environments.

Videos of Genie outputs using licensed characters have since been subject to takedowns. Stock prices for some game companies have also dropped, though one analyst said the reaction was "overblown."
Google's 'Project Genie' World Generator Sparks Copyright and Investment Concerns
Project Genie is an "experimental research prototype" that lets users generate characters and explore worlds to move around.

There is honestly no game which will make you feel more like a ninja than a shmup. Ninja Gaiden, Tenchu, nothing comes close to weaving through a gigantic fuck-off wall off bullets after finessing the enemy AI into giving you juuuuuuust enough room to glide your center pixel between it all.

I think we could all do with following this advice a bit more often.

KDE Plasma might just be the only Linux desktop environment made by human beings. I swapped to it and EVERYTHING is set up the way you would imagine it to be. There's a few random petty complaint stuff, but so far THIS is the way to Linux.

One of the worst things about linux is not being able to fucking open things by clicking on them. Every single fucking program wants you to do its stupid song and dance of figuring out which special words you have to type into a terminal like its 1994. Fuck offfffff mate

Australia is the only colonised nation in the world that celebrates its national day on the anniversary of its own invasion. #auspol

Why January 26 is not a date to celebrate and staying silent is not enough
January 26 is not neutral, and when leaders and brands stay silent, First Nations people continue to be harmed across Australia.

Two boss enemies I made for a shmup gig that did not go anywhere and I had no time for it anymore. Never posted these anywhere before. The brief was to make a bunch of mainly boss enemies in a somewhat less greebly DDP style. #pixelart #ドット絵

FATUM RACING CLUB

A race against time and fate in a digital vector world of early 2000s. This is a design concept inspired by the visuals of Wipeout, N, Darwinia and Colin McRae 2.0

Would you play a game like this?

I am honestly going to be heartbroken when I inevitably have to change my shmup due to feedback. It's so incredibly fun and everything I add makes it more so.

The worst thing about the Steam AI policy debacle that nobody is zeroing in on is that Steam STILL doesn't *actually* require any AI disclosure.
There is no penalty, so it's not really a rule.
