2008ish, Robert Bricker teaching drawing class at McGuffey Art Center in Cville and some teenage boys were standing on the hill nearby so that they could peer in through the window and gawk at the nude model. Bricker stuck his head out the window and yelled, "Take an art class. Improve yourself!"

Anglicans have a plurality of views on pretty much everything, so our theologians always start with scripture and tend to argue that their position is the more conservative or Orthodox of the options.

(Not the process theologians, the stone cold weirdos, he says lovingly)

Look buddy we can do this the easy way or the hard way...

And if you know the easy way will you please tell me?

I think I'd probably like it.

Hey Episcopalians and other liturgically minded denominations and especially anyone who marks the traditional Church seasons...

I get why you might give up social media during parts of the year in order to Center yourself. Do you know who's not doing that?! All the other kinds of Christians!!

The assumption that our politics is so "divided" that if I'm criticizing an administration you voted for I must be for the "other side" is crazy. I was born in this country. I'm a g*ddamn American. I ought to criticize every elected and appointed official in this country. Especially my guys!

It's not actually all that uncommon to have a valid criticism and a ridiculous unworkable solution to the problem you have correctly perceived. It is okay to listen to people who are offering bad ideas because sometimes underneath there's actually a real problem that needs addressing.

A Canon for Latin Ministries told me his siblings all used different words. He said Latinx, his sister said Hispanic, his brother said Mexican.

So if white people like me are arguing about this we sound ridiculous. Just ask how to identify someone if you need that information for any reason.

There’s a real fruits-of-the-Spirit issue with bile, hatred, vengeance, and deciding who deserves poverty, punishment, or death. If your Christianity isn’t growing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—you haven't really got it yet.

What if vampires were real but instead of literally drinking blood they just lived as wealthy recluse elites with weird habits and no sense of the value of human life and who, in fact, did suck the life out of everyone and everything and we called them... Billionaires?

I mean what if, right?

How do I know if I really experienced God? Well, encounters with God always turn us away from what we were doing, what we thought we cared about, and toward something infinitely larger and more loving.

If you think God is asking you to stay just as you are... That's not God.
