As ever, I do not view this point about white supremacy as one to debate. If you would argue with me about this or make it about politics I will delete your comment, shake the dust, and bid you go in peace brother. May someone turn your heart of stone into flesh etched with the Covenants of God.

From my sermon Sunday.

Y'all, having Jesus’ name on something doesn’t make it holy. Calling Jesus King doesn’t mean you’re the good guys.

Pontius Pilate’s the one who wrote the first sign, "Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews"

Church is not where you go to become someone else.
It’s where you go to remember who you really are: through the only eyes that matter—God’s.
You are
Beloved.
Belonging.
Deserving of love, dignity, healing.

The Gospel is not quite optimism.
It’s definitely not “everything happens for a reason.”
The lament in Scripture flies in the face of everyone who wants to sweep problems under the rug or find silver linings.

Some people hear judgment and flinch—not necessarily rejecting God, but because they were raised in churches where “judgment” meant control, cruelty, or condemnation. For them, judgment and violence feel inextricable. And they’d rather I use different words if I want them to feel safe.
