California voters on Tuesday overwhelmingly supported Prop. 50, Gov. Gavin Newsom's measure to create more Democratic congressional seats, countering a similar redistricting effort pushed by President Trump in other states to protect Republican control of the House. nyti.ms/3JMZntw

If the Supreme Court strikes down Section 2 of the 1965 Voting Rights Act, which has been interpreted to require the creation of majority-minority districts, Republicans could eliminate upward of a dozen Democratic-held districts across the South. Here's how.
The Supreme Court Case That Could Hand the House to Republicans
Democrats would be in danger of losing around a dozen majority-minority districts across the South if the court struck down part of the Voting Rights Act.

This is the St. Helena Parish Hospital in Greensburg, LA.

My grandmother was the lead accountant. My grandfather helps keep it running. My father died here in 2013.

If Rs pass the #OBBB, Medicaid will be cut—and this hospital could close.

This isn’t politics. It’s our lives.

The Republicans are voting now for massive layoffs and bankruptcies throughout the clean energy economy – a trillion dollar investment in a better future, abandoned.

The world we would have built is so different from the one we will now have to live in.

– New taxes on clean energy investment.

– Termination of the Fuel Economy Standards for new cars and trucks.

– A new tax subsidy for coal.

It's a collection of the worst, most harmful ideas you can imagine. And the Republican Senate is voting for them now.

With war in the Middle East, it’s easy to lose sight of what’s threatening the middle class here at home. Pres. Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” would gut Medicaid & Medicare to protect tax breaks for the wealthy.

We are approaching the 10‑year anniversary of Louisiana’s Medicaid expansion. Since the early 2010s, our uninsured rate has dropped from over 22 percent to around 10 percent. More than 600,000

End the unnecessary militarization of Los Angeles now, Donald Trump.

Refusing to do so will only confirm your authoritarian tendencies.

The country is watching.
